The number of people employed by KIC varies based on seasonal fluctuations. KIC recognizes Native preference practices, with emphasis placed on hiring and training KIC shareholders.
Shareholder hire policy
- KIC will give preference to its shareholders, shareholder spouses and shareholder descendants, provided they are qualified; KIC will also give preference to shareholders of NANA, then to shareholders of other Alaska Native Corporations
- KIC is a drug-free workplace, and conducts both pre-employment and random drug tests
