About KIC

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation (KIC) is the parent corporation of a family of subsidiaries that has earned a reputation for providing savvakturuq (diligent work under any condition). We invite you to explore our broad spectrum of professional capabilities that range from heavy construction to high-tech IT to national defense.

KIC is owned by our shareholders, who know how to survive and prosper in a remote part of Alaska above the Arctic Circle. Our name comes from the Iñupiaq word for Kotzebue, Kikiktagruk, which means “almost an island.” We operate our companies with the same values that have sustained and guided our shareholders for the last 10,000 years: adaptability, honesty, hard work, cooperation, integrity and a commitment to quality.

KIC is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) organized under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. Since our founding in 1973, we now conduct operations throughout the United States and around the world through our subsidiary companies, many of which are certified ANC 8(a) by the Small Business Administration.

We are proud of the work these companies do every day — work driven by an exceptional team of outstanding employees. You can trust each and every KIC subsidiary to deliver the very best.
